Raised Garden Beds & Edible Gardens
Grow in Colorado

Raised beds designed for
Colorado's growing conditions

Colorado's soil — often clay-heavy, alkaline and compacted — can make vegetable gardening frustrating. Custom raised garden beds solve this problem entirely by giving you complete control over your growing medium, drainage and soil quality — producing dramatically better results than in-ground planting.

Colorado Native Landscapes & Design builds custom raised garden beds using natural stone, concrete block, cedar timber and other durable materials. We design beds that are beautiful enough to be a landscape feature — not just functional boxes — and integrate them seamlessly with your overall garden design.

We also help you think through irrigation, soil selection, sun exposure and companion planting — ensuring your raised beds are set up for success in Colorado's unique growing conditions, including our short frost-free season and intense UV exposure.

Common questions
Frequently asked
questions
What materials do you use for raised garden beds?
We build raised beds using natural stone, concrete block, cedar timber, redwood and other materials based on your preference and budget. Natural stone and concrete block are the most durable and beautiful — they become permanent landscape features. Cedar timber is a popular and cost-effective option with a more traditional look.
How deep should raised garden beds be for Colorado?
For most vegetables, 12-18 inches of good growing medium is sufficient. Root vegetables like carrots and parsnips benefit from 18-24 inches. We typically build beds at a comfortable working height of 18-24 inches above grade — reducing bending and making gardening much more accessible.
